TRIBUTES have been paid to a young mother who died in the same crash that left her two daughters seriously injured.

Tanya Easdale, 36, was driving a black Ford Ka along the A44 between Leominster and Monkland when she was involved in a collision with a red Land Rover Freelander on Sunday afternoon.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her two daughters, eight-year-old Olivia and six-year-old Danielle, were both airlifted to Birmingham Children’s Hospital with serious injuries where they remain in a stable condition.

The two occupants of the second vehicle were described as ‘walking wounded’ and did not require hospital treatment.

In a statement released on behalf of their family, Penny Martindale and Anne- Marie Easdale, said their sister was a “much-loved daughter, sister, mum, auntie, cousin and friend”.

Due to turn 37 this Saturday, Miss Easdale went to Hereford’s St Pauls Primary School and Aylestone High School before she went on to live, study and work all over the country.

She moved to Weobley last year and quickly gained a circle of close friends.

Her sisters said: “She had recently, only a couple of months ago, started working at Bupa care home in Leominster, as an activity coordinator.

“We have received a lovely message telling us the amazing impact she made at the home in the very short time she’d been working there, and how sorely she’s going to be missed.

“This was no surprise to us, as she was so bubbly and cheerful and could make any room light up instantly, just with her presence.

“Anyone that knew Tanya would know that she loved to talk. One thing’s for sure, you’d never have an awkward silence if Tan was in the room.

“She was so loved by children, always the entertainer and so much fun.

“She worked at Weobley Primary Nursery before Bupa and we know that the whole school are devastated by her loss. She made a big impact on a lot of the children’s lives there too.

“She had a difficult life with many operations on her ears and a very hard personal life at times too, but she always remained so strong and positive and fought everything that came her way, again forever smiling.

“She’d always have a smile on her face and, as said by her eldest daughter, always wanted to make others happy even if she was struggling or unhappy herself.

“Tanya lived her life for her two beautiful girls.

She would do absolutely anything for them, the best mum any child could ever wish for.

“Those girls have lost their world, but gained an angel that I know will be with them through every walk of their lives.

“We never quite understood how, but our sister always had so much energy, positivity and motivation, no matter what life threw at her.

“And for that she was and always will be our inspiration.

“We were a three and we will always remain a three, as our beautiful and courageous sister will always live on in our hearts. We know she’s with us. Tanya will never be forgotten.”

It is not known whether speed was a factor in the crash but Monkland and Stretford Parish Council together with Eardisland Parish Council and Councillors Peter McCaull and Roger Phillips are working to request a reduced speed limit and improved safety measures at critical points along the A44 after a number of accidents in recent years, several of which have been fatal.

Miss Easdale’s employer also paid tribute to her. Julia Edwards, area manager at Bupa, said: ““Tanya was so kind, caring, and full of life and she’ll be greatly missed by all of us at the home.”

A fundraising appeal has been launched to raise money for the girls to have a few days away with their family when they are well enough.
