A SCAM caller has been trying to catch people out by saying he is selling anti-nuisance calls equipment.
Police said a Herefordshire resident received a call from a man saying he was Robert Cole and quoted £1.50 per month to stop nuisance calls.
The victim initially agreed and gave him her bank details but following the call she had second thoughts.
When she tried to call the telephone number he gave her it did not work, so she informed her bank and cancelled her bank card.
Police said there has been a slight rise in the number of scam calls and issued another warning.
They said a Madley resident was being called daily from the telephone number 01216 290766 since June 13 asking them to urgently call British Gas on their legitimate number 08456 755516.
But when they contacted British Gas the company said they were not initiating these calls.
