NOZSTOCK has changed my view on music festivals- I am now raring to go to the next one.

I have always been a slightly reluctant festival-goer, having never had an amazing experience of one.

But the festival near Bromyard at the weekend has changed my view completely.

It is small enough to feel friendly but also big enough to have a vibrant, busy atmosphere.

The festival is spread out across a farm with stages filling barns and animal sheds.

I was particularly intrigued by the Coppice area where people danced among the trees to psychedelic trance at all hours of the day and The Bullpen where hip hop played out from what looked like a cow shed.

There is an eclectic choice of music on each of the stages in each of the fields, which gives you a feeling of walking into many different parties.

The Orchard Stage at the centre of the festival is where we often found ourselves with up-beat bands playing throughout the Saturday.

The Stiff Joints from Kidderminster had everyone dancing at 5 o'clock in the afternoon to their blend of two-tone ska, reggae and punk.

We then wandered across to the The Bandstand and happily found a hammock to relax in while listening to The Black Thistles- an indie rock band with effortless vocals.

This was followed by a four-piece rock band called Doppelganger with a powerfully loud performance.

Hot 8 Brass Band took to the Orchard Stage later on- I loved their infectious big brass band sound mixed with funk and hip-hop- they had everyone dancing.

And the biggest crowd of the night was for headliners Jurassic 5- two of which were wearing Beefy Boys t-shirts.

It was an incredibly slick performance and the way the four rappers interacted was impressive.

DJ Nu-Mark and Cut Chemist were also fantastic and it was brilliant when they took centre stage for a scratch break with a drum machine and a combination of a turntable and a guitar.

Nozstock has everything you could want from a festival- a friendly atmosphere, quality bands, delicious food stalls and even more to see and do with acrobatic performances, comedy and crafts.
