PRIMARY school leavers decided to leave a legacy of their own by reinstating their school's pond.
Ten of the year six leavers at Staunton-on-Wye Endowed Primary School fundraised to renovate and improve the pond area, which had dried up last summer.
It had previously been used for science and art outdoor learning.
Headteacher, Mary Stevens, said: "We hold an Eco School Green Flag; the environment is at the heart of the children's learning.
"So, when the year six children decided the legacy they would leave for the school this year was a newly built boardwalk and pond liner that will last for at least 40 years, I was very excited."
The chestnut boardwalk was sourced from the Garnon's Estate and Say It With Wood in Much Cowarne carried out the work.
Chair of governors and antiques expert, Kate Bliss, officially opened the pond.
