THE finalists for an awards ceremony celebrating businesses which boost tourism in the county have been announced.

There are 29 finalists in the Visit Herefordshire Awards for Excellence with the awards ceremony to be held next month at Eastnor Castle.

There were 55 entries from Herefordshire for the nine categories.

For best visitor attraction Made in Ross, Ross-on-Wye; Waterworks Museum, Hereford; Westons Cider, Much Marcle; and The Cider Museum, Hereford have been shortlisted.

Nominations for best guest accommodation are Wilton Court, Ross-on-Wye; Kilcot Inn, Newent; and Temple Bar Inn in Ewyas Harold.

Brinsop Court, near Hereford; Monnington House; and The Colloquy, Lyonshall made it into the best self catering section.

Poston Mill, near Peterchurch was the only one shortlisted for Best Touring, Camping and Holiday Park.

While Hereford River Carnival; Bright Stripe – Herefordshire Art Week; Wye Valley River Festival and Herefordshire's Family Festival were selected for Best Festivals and Events (Community).

In the Best Festivals and Events (Commercial) category are CAMRA Beer Festival, Hereford; Nozstock, Bromyard; and Eastnor Castle Chilli Festival.

Best Conference Venue nominations are The Cider Museum, Hereford; Brinsop Court; and Eastnor Castle.

In the Best Eating Out category the choices are The Riverside at Aymestrey; Three Horseshoes Inn in Little Cowarne; Green Cow Kitchens in Whitbourne; and the Temple Bar Inn in Ewyas Harold.

And finally The Best Food Producer category includes Ross-on-Wye Cider & Perry in Peterstow; Woodthorpe Preserves, Kington; Peter Cooks Bread, Bishop's Frome; and Myrtle’s Kitchen, Bromyard.
