WESTONS Cider Visitor Centre is the best in Herefordshire, and that's official.

At the Visit Herefordshire and Visit Worcestershire awards for Excellence 2016 ceremony, held at Eastnor Castle last week, the Much Marcle attraction took top spot as the county's best visitor centre, and the cider company is in the mood to celebrate.

Rose Manns, Weston's visitor centre manager said: "We are absolutely thrilled to have won best visitor attraction in Herefordshire. It really does mean so much to all the visitor centre team and is a great recognition of all the team's dedication.

"As a business we pride ourselves on customer service and understanding our customers' needs."

She added: "We would like to thank our nominees that nominated us for the award, and recognise that all entrants deliver a high standard of service to the tourism industry. Our award will have pride and place in our Visitor Centre, as a really treasure."

Westons Visitor Centre offers daily cider mill tours; a play area for the children, which is free of charge, the Scrumpy House Restaurant and the Orchard Tea Rooms.

Visitors also have the chance of sampling cider and perries.

Westons has been making cider, on the same site, since 1878 and it markets over 150 ciders and perries.

Its current best seller is the "Stowford Press" cider, which is available in bottles and from pubs throughout the UK.

Another well-known cider from Westons is "Old Rosie", which is a traditional "scrumpy" cider, being cloudy and still, and also strong.
