POLICE say they are to interview a man in connection with an investigation into an alleged assault carried out on the day of a county hunt meet.

Officers launched the investigation after video footage, filmed by the Bristol Hunt Saboteurs which claims the attack was carried out by a member of the Ledbury Hunt, was released on social media.

Police working to establish the circumstances around what happened and who was involved during the incident at Castlemorton on Wednesday, December 28, have said that a man is due to be interviewed voluntarily under caution but they have not yet received any reports from a complainant and no arrests have been made.

The Ledbury Hunt has said it is carrying out an internal investigation to establish as far as possible the true facts.

In a statement, a spokesman said all hunting activities are conducted within the law and the person who appears to have been involved in a fracas is not employed by the hunt and was not at any time acting on its behalf.

The enquiry is ongoing and anyone with information which could help the police investigation should call 101 quoting referencing 223s of 291216.
