ENTRY forms are available now for local groups willing to show community spirit by taking part in the fifth Ledbury Community Day.

It is a day each summer when the main venues in the town centre are a welcoming hive of activity and when local groups and organisations put the best of Ledbury on display.

Groups that have taken part in past Community Days include Ledbury Community Brass Band, Ledbury Refugee Support Group, Ledbury Young Farmers, Ledbury Maritime Cadet Unit, the Countryside Restoration Trust, the German Group, Hereford and Ross branches of the Decorative and Fine Art Society, Ledbury and Colwall Children’s Society and many more.

A spokesman said: "The main aim of Ledbury Community Day is to provide an opportunity for local groups to show what they do and encourage participation from locals and visitors to join in with a celebration of Ledbury and District’s excellence".

The spokesman added: "Last year 80 groups and organisations took part representing all ages and all parts of the community.

"All three halls, St Katherine’s Hall, The Burgage Hall and The Community Hall, were very busy in addition to many groups using their own premises.

There was a particularly strong turnout by members of the public for last year' even, with residents and visitors alike braving unseasonably wet weather to attend.

The Community Brass Band kept spirits up with live music to the town centre.

Many organisations taking part reported success in finding new members or potential volunteers.

Ledbury Community Day will take place this year on Saturday June 10.
