A SINGLE dad was given a 12-month driving ban for being caught driving with cannabis in his system.
Jonathan Norman, age 28, of Ashton, pleaded guilty to driving in Dishley Street in Leominster on December 30 last year at 12.45pm when he had 3.8mg of a compound of cannabis in his system, the legal limit is 2mg.
Emily Gourley, mitigating, said he has full custody of his son and works full time. She said he has depression and anxiety and had been advised to try cannabis to relax. He smoked a joint the night before he was stopped by police.
She said: "It was a very harsh learning curve and something he will never repeat."
Norman was given a 12-month driving disqualification and ordered to pay a £250 fine, £135 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
