A PEDESTRIAN crossing on the A40 by Wilton roundabout in Ross-on-Wye has been proposed.
Kier Highways is carrying out a consultation on installing a toucan crossing 40 metres to the east of the roundabout on the A40.
They also want to implement a 40mph speed limit on the approach to the roundabout in all directions.
The consultation letter said: "This scheme has been developed in consultation with Bridstow Parish Council and funding for integration schemes has been successful and as a consequence we have been asked to include the scheme within the construction programme for 2017/18."
Ross-on-Wye Town Council supported the proposals.
Cllr Phil Cutter said: "You have got Bridstow School and not everyone has a car. Some people need to cross the road."
He congratulated Bridstow Parish Council on the work that has been done.
The consultation ends on March 21.
