SPRING daffodil celebrations are now in full swing in the Golden Triangle an area of Gloucestershire nestled between the Malvern Hills and the County boundary with Herefordshire.

This weekend, Dymock will welcome visitors over Saturday and Sunday, and next weekend its the turn of Oxenhall.

Kempley's daffodil weekend has already drawn in the flower-loving crowds, earlier in March.

And local organisers are saying that this year's displays are something extra special

And this comes hot on the heels of news that The Daffodil Way, which takes in the local daffodil fields, has gained national recognition by being listed as Walk Number Two in the Times best “Spring walks guide: Woods, wildflowers and mountains” for the United Kingdom.

Martin Brocklehurst, spokesman for the Oxenhall daffodil weekend said: "One of the best wild daffodil displays for years is on show. This year is a fantastic opportunity to see the county flower of Gloucestershire in all its glory.

“Spring has really arrived and one of the best displays seen in years is available for visitors to enjoy.

He added: "In Oxenhall, the protected nature reserves and sites of scientific interest are in full bloom; the Forestry Commission woodlands are carpeted and the road verges are sprinkled with drifts of wild daffodils.”
