A STUDENT from Kentchurch is hoping to raise money to help him play for Wales in this year's student rugby world cup in Australia.
Ieuan Jones, who went to Garway Primary School, has been selected to represent Wales in Sydney in July and each player needs to raise £,3000 to go.
Mr Jones, 22, who is studying engineering at Northumbria University, is hoping to raise £1,000 through a crowdfunding page.
His mum, Marie, said: "He has played rugby since the age of nine and last year was selected to play and captained Wales students rugby league four nations in Edinburgh."
Mr Jones' four-year degree is being sponsored by the army, Royal Corps of Signals, and he is hopefully going to Sandhurst in September.
