A WOMAN was taken to hospital after being rescued from a septic tank in Ross-on-Wye.
Emergency services were called to Tanyard Lane at around 7pm on Sunday.
Fire crews from Ross and Hereford used water rescue equipment to free the woman, 63, from the tank via a manhole.
They administered oxygen and trauma care to both the woman and her husband, who was suffering from shock.
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said the woman had been in the tank for 45 minutes.
She did not ingest anything but did sustain an arm injury and was taken to Hereford County Hospital.
