PASSENGER numbers at train stations in Herefordshire have shown sustained growth since 1997, the latest Office of Rail Regulator statistics show.
Rail and Bus for Herefordshire, a lobby group, said that at Hereford Railway Station passenger numbers have almost trebled. In 1997 to 1998 there were 482,010 passengers compared to 1,226,444 for 2015 to 2016.
Ledbury has also increased its figures from 101,307 to 214,632. And Leominster has seen an even bigger growth from 71,780 to 276,904.
The group said: "These figures prove the growing value of train services in this area, especially with regard to connectivity with the West Midlands and with London."
