A COMBINATION of 'passionate staff, exceptional service and thriving children' proved to be a winning formula for one Leominster nursery which achieved the best possible result in its latest Ofsted inspection.

The 'outstanding' rating was given to Honey Bees Day Nursey, based at the Coningsby Centre, which caters for children aged three months to five years.

The regulator also said the nursery – which was created in 2009 and is part of the non-profit making organisation Oaks Children’s Group – had 'excellent relationships' with parents to ensure children's interests, backgrounds and care and learning needs are fully understood and met.

Charity manager Margo Evans said: "We were absolutely thrilled to receive the highest recognition in Ofsted’s inspection criteria. The team has worked very hard and enjoys supporting the children and parents and making a difference to the beginning of their learning journey."

All nurseries are required to meet the legal standards as set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage for welfare, care and education of children in the Early Years.

Nursery Manager Diane Wilkins added: "Honey Bees aims to exceed parents’ expectations, not just meet them. We work closely with them to meet their children’s needs, following the children’s interests, and making sure parents are confident leaving their loved ones with us. Ofsted’s recognition of this has been warmly received by our team, inspiring us to continue to grow to be the best."
