THE NURSERY classes at Ledbury Primary School will be flying into a new era this autumn, with a new name, Little Wrens, and with the school planning to take on the Ledbury Children's Centre from Herefordshire Council.

Headteacher, Julie Rees said: "The school has divided the children into four houses; Eagles, Buzzards,Kites and Kestrels this year, so in keeping with this theme the nursery will be re-named as Little Wrens Pre-school and nursery.

"The children have a highly active Forest School site where birds have been nesting this spring, so the idea came from the children to keep with a birds theme."

Little Wrens will be able to accept children aged from two to four, for up to 30 hours per week.

Mrs Rees added: "Ledbury Primary School is anticipating taking on the Ledbury Children’s Centre which will enhance early years opportunities on the site and ensure the highest quality provision for the local community."

The Children's Centre is based in the school grounds.
