PLANNING approval has been given for a specially designed home within the curtilage of an existing bungalow.
Herefordshire Council's planning committee praised the plans for the land which is in open countryside to the east of a bungalow in Aston Ingham, Ross-on-Wye.
The plans were praised for being energy efficient, making use of a brownfield site, and for replacing poor existing outbuildings with a contemporary designed building.
The applicant, Laura Tucker, told the planning meeting she had been in a road accident in 1999 which had left her in a wheelchair.
She said she searched for a home which was surrounded by flat, open land so she could still take her dogs out for a walk.
She found the bungalow in Aston Ingham and has enjoyed living there for 12 years.
Ms Tucker said: "My needs are starting to change for the worse. I really value the countryside and want to stay living at Broadfields. For this to happen I need a bungalow which addresses my needs now and in the future."
