A NEW service aimed at improving wellbeing by signposting patients and residents to non-medical services and support has been launched in a county village.

The Fownhope and District Community Links Service – which covers the catchment area of Fownhope Medical Centre – will provide information as well as offering guidance and assistance as appropriate.

The aim of the Community Links Service is to improve patient’s wellbeing by linking people to the many social and community based services that exist in the area.

The new service starts tomorrow (Wednesday, June 21), via referrals from staff at Fownhope Medical Centre.

The 18-month pilot scheme has been developed by Fownhope Medical Centre, working with hvoss (Herefordshire Voluntary Organisations Support Service), with funding from the Fownhope and District Medical Trust.
