A FUNDRAISING gig in aid of a youth music project is to take place in Hereford this Saturday.

De Koffie Pot will be the location for the event which is raising funds for Livewire - a project run by music charity The Music Pool, which mentors and supports young musicians in writing, producing, performing and developing their musical skills.

The Livewire project includes weekly drop-in sessions, Livewire Central (an intensive development week which takes place in school half terms), skills development sessions in PRUs and creating performance opportunities for participants, including gigs at De Koffie Pot, The Imperial, Castle Green Summer Fayre, River Carnival and Noztock Festival.

The project is currently supported with funding from Youth Music, People's Postcode Lottery and The Brit Trust, however these resources are still being over-stretched to cater for this growing project.

To raise much-needed cash, current and former Livewire participants will come together to raise more funds to keep the project going at the event on Saturday.

Acts will include Amelia Hunter, Sons of Pluto, Furious Jorge alongside special guests Anapurna.

The event starts at 7pm with entry at a cost of £2 which will go towards funding more Livewire provision.
