A TEAM of cyclists from a county business are hoping to raise £50,000 for the charity the firm has supported for more than 11 years.

A total of 18 colleagues make up Team MandM Direct, a group who left the firm’s Leominster site on Tuesday ready to cycle from London to Paris for Teenage Cancer Trust on Wednesday.

The company, which sells big brand clearance products, has been associated with the charity for more than 11 years and has already raised an impressive £1,462,740.

But they’re hoping to smash the £1.5million barrier by the end of the summer and are calling on county residents to throw their support behind the team of amateur cyclists who will have been pedalling hundreds of miles for the charity.

Mike Tomkins, chairman at MandM Direct, said: “MandM Direct works with Teenage Cancer Trust, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of teenage cancer sufferers and their families.

“We want to smash that special £1.5 million barrier by the end of this month.”

Team members come from all departments of the business, including logistics, the contact centre, buying, IT and creative, and they are joined by the the COO and chairman.

They have been training hard over the last few months in what is a particularly special year for the firm as it is celebrates its 30th anniversary.
