AN open conclusion was recorded at an inquest into the death of a man who was identified by dental records.

Adrian Maund, 47, was sadly thought to have been dead for around a week at his home on Caswell Crescent in Leominster before his body was discovered.

An inquest at Hereford Town Hall heard Mr Maund had suffered a number of medical problems including ischemic heart disease, malignant hypertension with progressive renal failure and had suffered a stroke previously.

On June 4, Mr Maund’s half-sister alerted police when she attended his address and discovered the curtains closed and the back door closed but unlocked and a smell inside the property. Paramedics arrived and confirmed Mr Maund had died. A post-mortem report stated that the cause of death was unascertainable due to advanced decomposition.

Coroner Mark Bricknell, said there was no suggestion there was any third party involvement and no evidence Mr Maund had intended to take his own life. He considered Mr Maund’s ‘significant’ medical history but delivered an open conclusion.
