THE issue of parking on public pavements was raised at a town council meeting.
Cllr Nigel Gibbs, chairman of Ross-on-Wye Town Council, said a member of the public had sent in a picture from Nursery Road in Ross, which showed the back end of a van blocking the pavement completely.
Police Community Support Officer Lisa Austin said: "Each case of parking on the pavement is assessed by the officer sent out at the time.
"They have got to use their discretion as it is sometimes safer to park on the pavement but there has to be enough space for a mobility scooter or a pushchair so they don't have to go on the road."
She said if the officer thought the vehicle was inappropriately parked an advisory notice would be issued in the first instance.
