A DAY of golf in memory of a Hereford father raised £3,000 for charity.

The event, held at Leominster Golf Club, raised money for the Midlands Air Ambulance in memory of Stewart Thomson.

Mr Thomson died aged 57 on May 10 2015, having suffered from ischaemic and hypertension heart disease, while on the eleventh hole at Leominster Golf Club.

Friends and family members all gathered for the fundraising event which saw teams take part in a four-ball Stableford competition.

Mr Thomson's wife, Jane Thomson, said: "A huge thank you to Leominster golf club for hosting again. "Special thanks to Chris Dixon and the many helpers on the day and for the donations for the raffle and cakes. It was a special event held in Stewart's memory."
