A HORSE-drawn cider mill will be open to the public this weekend.

The seventeenth-century mill and press at Fair Oak Farm in Bacton were restored in 2011 and returned to working order.

This will be the fourth year in which Pye, a Gypsy Cob stallion bred and trained by Wendy and John Lloyd of Llanigon, will come to Fair Oak to make cider.

An additional attraction will be a Victorian apple scratting machine, made in 1859 by Knapton of Somerset.

Visitors will also be able to see the new half-hour documentary film made by David Bishop, Horse-powered in Herefordshire, telling the story of Fair Oak cider, from harvesting to wassail.

Opening hours will be on Saturday and Sunday from 10am until 4pm. Donations to Laurie Engel Fund for Teenage Cancer Trust.

The postcode is HR2 0AT. Call 01981 241210 for more details.
