A LEOMINSTER grandfather has completed a 15-mile walk to raise funds and awareness of the condition his granddaughter suffers from.

John Moss, 74, led a group of 11 on a trek from Hay-on-Wye to Kington, following the Offa's Dyke Path, to raise money for the Epilepsy Society.

He said: "My granddaughter Rosie has epilepsy and I thought I couldn't do a lot to help her so I decided to raise some money for the Epilepsy Society.

"I know a few people from going up to the allotment and also a few ramblers and friends of mine so thought I would ask around and see what they thought and they volunteered to do it.

"There was 11 of us in total and one dog. We enjoyed it and did 15 miles. It was quite a hard walk from Hay-on-Wye to Kington and it rained more than halfway round so we all got soaking wet through."

The fundraiser raised £1,890 and there are hopes that it can take place again next year.
