HUNDREDS of pupils from schools across the county joined together to sing a Christmas song for RAF troops around the world.

The Combined Schools' Carol Service was held at Hereford Cathedral and saw 600 pupils take part.

As part of the service, pupils sang We Wish You A Merry Christmas, which was recorded and will be sent to RAF troops around the world to wish them a Happy Christmas.

The pupils were accompanied by the brass quintet from the RAF Central Band.

The concert was part of Hereford Cathedral School's music outreach programme which they run with primary schools across Herefordshire.

The choirs involved were from St Paul's Church of England Primary School in Hereford, Lugwardine Primary Academy, Lord Scudamore Primary Academy, Gorsley Goffs Primary, Aylestone, Wellington Primary, Mordiford Church of England Primary and Herefordshire Junior Youth Choir.

There was also pupils from Bishop's Castle Primary in Ludlow, Cradley Primary in Malvern and St Margaret's Preparatory School in Calne, Wiltshire.

There were also choirs from Hereford Cathedral School, Hereford Cathedral Junior School and the Hereford Cathedral School Saturday Morning Singers.

The pupils sang a range of popular carols to a packed cathedral.
