A NURSE who faithfully served her community will be remembered with a charity concert at Great Malvern Priory.
The event, on Saturday, February 3, has been organised by Gwyn and Iain Sloan and is dedicated to the memory of Susan Cosker, who died in June last year.
It will raise money for the UK-based charity, Hospice Care Kenya, which she supported.
Sue gave her time in service to the community as a district nurse in Ledbury, followed by many years working at St Michael's Hospice in Hereford.
In retirement she continued to care for neighbours, as well as volunteering at the Lyttelton Well in Malvern.
Gwyn and Sue visited East Africa on two occasions, working in various Kenyan hospices and in a hospital in Tanzania. Sue was a staunch supporter of the work of Hospice Care Kenya for many years.
The concert, which will be conducted by Iain Sloan, will include popular choral items ranging from music by Handel through to John Rutter.
Performing are the Malaika Singers, with soloists Susan Black, Verity Bramson, William Coleman, Stephen Davis, Niall Hoskin, Katie Leaver, Lynne Lindner and Pamela Rudge, accompanied by Piers Maxim on the organ.
Tickets are available from the Lyttelton Well, the Priory shop or at hospicecarekenya.com at £10 (£5 concessions). Thanks to sponsorship from Aspect Design and Shane Howells Ltd, and an anonymous donation, all money taken will go directly to the charity.
