ORGANISERS of the famous Golden Triangle daffodil weekends say they will put on some of the best country walks in the country, this spring.

And an extra event has been scheduled in, to help bring in the big crowds to the Dymock, Kempley and Oxenhall areas, near Ledbury.

A spokesman said: "The villages of Kempley, Oxenhall and Dymock within the Golden Triangle will once again celebrate the birth of spring when carpets of wild daffodils burst forth for visitors to see. Visitors can expect a wide range of activities across the three villages. The programme includes weekend events at each village with organised walks, luscious Daffodil lunches, teas, exhibitions in the local churches and at Kempley trips on the Daff & Ride bus.

"This year we have collated together all the major events on during the months of March and April so that visitors can have a choice on when they come, and we have added an extra event at Awnells Farm.

"The farm will also feature on one of our celebrated walks that will provide visitors with the opportunity to visit St Mary’s Church, to see the famed 12th century frescoes and wall paintings, a craft cider maker, who will explain his trade and provide guests with samples, and to see a famed pedigree heard of Herefordshire Cattle grazing in historic orchard settings."

The spokesman added: "At Oxenhall we have added in a new walk so that visitors can see historic remains of the industrial revolution that touched this part of Gloucestershire in the Victorian Period. Details on the Newent Coalfield and Iron Ore Industry and now abandoned canals and railways will feature on this walk, that also takes in magnificent Daffodil Meadows and Woodlands as well as panoramic views over the Cotswolds and May Hill.

"Many of the walks will use routes not normally available to the public by agreement with private landowners as well as the famed Daffodil Way. At Kempley a Minibus will run regularly on a circular tour for our younger and older guests who cannot tackle the walks."

With events on at Kempley (March 17-18), Awnells Farm (March 23), Oxenhall (March 24-25) and Dymock (March 31 and April 1) we are offering visitors an unparalleled opportunity see the Golden Triangle and the County Flower of Gloucestershire in all its glory, to sample local food, enjoy good company and join spring walks now recognised nationally as some of the best in the Country."
