THE Rotary Club of Colwall is inviting young versifiers to put pen to paper in celebration of this year's royal wedding.
The club is running a local heat of a competition launched by Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland to mark Prince Harry's marriage to Meghan Markle.
The Colwall club is inviting local schools, youth groups and individuals to enter the competition, which has two age groups: seven-11 and 12-17.
Schools and youth groups can send as many entries as they wish and the club will issue a certificate for each poem entered.
Entries should be sent to jim.richardson2@btinternet.com by Friday, March 16, with the writer’s name, age, name of school or youth group, if appropriate, and contact details.
Those entries judged successful in each category will be entered into the district competition and those successful at that level will be entered into the national competition, which will be judged in April 2018.
