YOUNG Scouters are set to ‘go up the wall’ at a special event at a Kidderminster store this weekend (Sat Feb 24).

Go Outdoors on the Hoo Farm Industrial Estate is showcasing Scouting in Wyre Forest and will be giving Beavers, Cubs and Scouts from the 21st Kidderminster (Brinton Park) group the chance to use the company’s climbing wall to promote the Next Generation Appeal.

The appeal aims to raise £110,000 to add a 22-bed extension to the popular Scouts’ activity centre at Rhydd covert and raffle tickets to raise funds will be on sale from 11am-3pm.

Strong support from the community has helped Kidderminster Scout Association to raise £90,000 since it launched the appeal last April and it hopes to collect another £10,000 from its Grand Draw.

Representatives from the association will be on hand throughout the day to provide information about how young people can get involved in Scouting.
