Red roses have been stolen from the city centre floral tribute to Hereford murder victim Robert Eacock.
Scott Gillespie also said that someone had left a sick joke for family members to see at the spot near to where the 33-year-old was fatally stabbed on Commercial Street.
Mr Gillespie, who was a close friend of Mr Eacock, explained that a loaf of brown bread was left at the scene.
Brown bread is a term used in rhyming slang for the word dead and Mr Gillespie questioned the mind-set of some people.
Mr Gillespie visited the floral tribute on Monday with Mr Eacock’s children when he noticed the missing roses and the bread ahead of Tuesday’s funeral.
