A GROUP of artists who operate from the Market House in Ross-on-Wye continue to go from strength to strength.

Made in Ross was set up in 2015 after Ross Town Council took over the running of the historic town centre building.

There are 14 artists upstairs in the Market House who sell their work and they also run workshops and guest exhibitions.

Eleanor Kercher, chairwoman of Made in Ross, said: "Things are going very well and we are really pleased and very pleased with the continuing support we get from the town council."

She added: "Our sales figures this year are significantly up on last year. We are well over £8,000 so far and still not at the end of the financial year."

Footfall is also up on last year.

She said lighting was still an issue but they hope to correct this. Ms Kercher also said: "We have an group of men drinking under the Market House. It is quite an unfortunate thing. We do try to ring the police and report it by 101. They are there a lot of the time. It makes the area of the Market House unpleasant and unwelcoming."
