SCHOOLCHILDREN across the Vale can draw or paint their favourite things for this year’s Bish Bosh Bash Summer Fete.

Children up to 11 years of age can feature in the art competition at Bishampton’s annual summer fete, now in its third year, which takes place on Saturday July 14 in and around the grounds of St James’ Bishampton, a 12th century village church.

Awards will be presented for best in class, highly recommended and best use of materials on the day.

Tim King, who is organising the competition said: “Church Lench and Flyford Flavell First schools are taking part in the competition, but anyone of the right age who goes to another school is very welcome to enter. Last year we had over 140 entries so we’re hoping to match or even beat that number this time."

Entrants are free to choose their own subject.

The winning entries will be in the church on the day.

Meanwhile Bishampton’s baking bonanza is also inviting entrants, both adults and children can have a go at making and winning - a 2018 ‘bishcuit’ to become this year’s champion confectionary makers.

Bish Bosh Bash, is taking place from 1pm to 4.30pm and will feature entertainment from Worcester Concert Brass, Morris Dancing, a Fun Dog Show, Classic Cars, as well as a wide variety of traditional and novel stalls, children’s activities, and stunning floral displays.

Visitors can enjoy a mouthwatering choice of hot and cold refreshments and enter the raffle for some tempting prizes including a week’s self catering holiday in Aberdovey.

Entry to the event is free. There will be designated parking areas and spaces for the disabled throughout the village.
