CROSS party politicians will join The Apprentice star Nick Hewer in Hereford to discuss the Second World War.
Jesse Norman MP (Conservative) and Professor The Lord Smith of Clifton (Liberal Democrat) will be speaking at an event at The Great Hall in Bishop’s Place, Hereford.
Joined by former advisor to Lord Alan Sugar (Labour peer) and star of TV’s The Apprentice and Countdown, Nick Hewer, speakers also include John Croft CBE, who worked at Bletchley alongside Alan Turing, David Whitehead, secretary of the Woolhope Club, Margaret Spurr, former BBC Trustee, and Ernest Morgan.
The event on Friday, May 18 will see speakers offer their perspectives on the Second World War to help raise funds for the Moccas church organ restoration.
Jesse Norman said: “I warmly support this appeal for the organ in Moccas church - one of the most beautiful in my constituency; and I am delighted to chair this unique event. It will give local people young and old the opportunity to hear and celebrate these unique first-hand accounts of key aspects of the Second World War, while supporting the preservation of Herefordshire’s extraordinary church heritage at the same time.”
Doors open 6.30pm for 7pm start. Tickets £15 (including wine) from Anthea Chester-Master on 01981 500658.
