THE Hereford Times is delighted to launch the first ever Health and Social Care Awards 2018.

The awards which will focus on the excellent work carried out by individuals and teams across the the county.

They will recognise the hard work, dedication, innovation and care delivered across the health and social care sector.

With focus on the individuals and their stories, it is the people who make the difference.

We hope the people of Herefordshire will show their support for the Hereford Times Health and Social Care Awards by nominating someone they know who deserves it.

We hope to have nominations from the general public, public and private organisations and, of course, health and social care professionals who make such a difference to the lives of so many.

The 12 categories are: The Care Team; The Care Hero; The Care Home Worker; The Home Care Worker; The Good Nurse; The Outstanding Contribution to Social Care; The Care Trainer; The Dignity in Care; The Dementia Carer; The Palliative/ End of Life; The Care Innovator; The Care Employer.

Sponsors already announced are Herefordshire Council, St Michael's Hospice, Katherine Harriet Bespoke Home Care, Western Power Distribution, Hoople, and Rotherwood Healthcare.

A series of supplements in the Hereford Times and special coverage on our website and social media will explain the awards that are up for grabs, appeal for entries, and publicise those shortlisted.

The climax will be an awards ceremony when the winners and runners-up are revealed, followed by a special supplement in the Hereford Times highlighting all the successful entrants.

Nominations will be accepted until August 10 and the awards ceremony will be held in September.
