LEDBURY'S High Street will be the place for a town party and food fair, to celebrate "all that’s best in Ledbury" on the last day of the Ledbury Poetry Festival, Sunday July 8.

Event spokesman, Griff Holliday of the Ledbury Food Group said: "Food and drink stalls will line Ledbury’s historic High Street leading to an entertainment area around the Market House.

"The best of scrumptious local produce from the Three Counties will be available with 30 food and drink stalls in the High Street featuring food to eat on the spot and to take home to savour."

Mr Holliday added: "The poetry and music stage compered by comedy poet Rob Barrett will provide entertainment featuring poets Kurly McGeachie, with hip hop Shakespeare and Nico Reznick, plus music from the Ludlow Jazz Collective and SassCappella singing group, and dance from 365Dance.

"Ledbury Amateur Dramatic Society will be around to provide drama and local poets will add to the day. Watch out too anywhere for Ledbury Fringe buskers, popping up with instant entertainment."

The market will open at 11am with entertainment from noon. The event will end at 5pm.

Mr Holliday added: "Ledbury’s heritage buildings will all be open including the Master’s House, which will be opening specially.

"Other attractions will include a Classic Car display, children’s art and poetry competition entries in the Market House and a Box of Delights garden competition run be Ledbury in Bloom."

Mr Holliday added: "Ledbury Food Group, Ledbury Poetry Festival, Ledbury Town Council, Joined Up Heritage and the Ledbury Fringe are all contributing to bring this special day to Ledbury."
