A MAN who helped the murderer of Robert Eacock after he escaped from Hereford has been jailed.

Luke Mansell, 21, of High Street, Tipton, was sentenced to 18 months in prison for assisting an offender at Worcester Crown Court on Monday, August 13.

The trial into the murder of Mr Eacock heard that Mansell had provided Anthony Boyd with a change of clothing, knowing that Boyd had committed a crime.

After fatally stabbing Mr Eacock in broad daylight on January 29, Boyd escaped Hereford and travelled to Tipton in the West Midlands where he met with Mansell and Artaf Hussain.

Mansell pleaded guilty to the charge at a court hearing earlier this year.

Boyd, 23, of Circuit Close, Willenhall and Artaf Hussain, 31, of Slater Street, Tipton, were jailed for life for the murder of Mr Eacock earlier this month.

The 21 year old will spend 46 months in prison as he was also sentenced to 28 months for possession with intent to supply cocaine and 18 months for possession with intent to supply cannabis, to run concurrently.
