VOLUNTEERS are needed for a research project at Queenswood Country Park this autumn.
The Queenswood Heritage Gateway Project will explore the history of Queenswood by pairing volunteers with Hereford Archive and Records Centre (HARC), Hereford Museum and Art Gallery and Leominster Museum to consult original documents, images and newspapers to piece together the heritage of the woodland.
Rose Farrington, Queenswood Heritage Gateway Project Officer, said: "This is a really exciting project for Queenswood and Herefordshire more widely. Queenswood welcomes thousands of visitors each year and this project will allow us to offer these visitors more information on the history and heritage of the site.
"The volunteers taking part in the archive project will receive high quality training from an experienced archive professional and will get the opportunity to contribute to the production of a published History of Queenswood booklet at the end of the project. Volunteering is a great social activity and this project will provide the opportunity to learn new skills and find out more about the woodland and its diverse history."
