A 'BRIGHT' teenager was caught driving on drugs after watching the World Cup.
Oliver Munroe, 18, of Barrs Court Road, Hereford, pleaded guilty to two charges of driving under the influence of drugs at Hereford Magistrates Court on September 19.
Munroe was stopped by police on the Ledbury Road on July 7.
He appeared nervous and smelled of drugs, the prosecution stated.
A drugs test showed the teenager proved positive for having cannabis and the breakdown substance of cocaine in his system.
His defence explained this was the first time Munroe had been in trouble with the police, and that the college student was 'very bright with the world ahead of him'.
His defence solicitor said: "He is disappointed in his own actions."
Munroe was banned from driving for 12 months and was ordered to pay a £75 fine, costs of £135 and a £50 victim surcharge.
