BRIERLEY HILL & WITHYMOOR 1, BROMYARD TOWN 2

BROMYARD Town gained three morale-boosting Sport Italia West Midlands Premier Division points from this game against a physical Brierley team.

The visitors played the better football during the first half and deservedly took the lead in the 28th minute when Joe Wood scored from close range.

Five minutes later a superb save from Brierley's keeper, after a low drive by Chris Allen, kept the home team in the match. At the other end of the park, Bromyard's keeper Aaron O'Malley was also in fine form.

After the break, Brierley piled on the pressure but Bromyard's defence held firm with Wayne Lloyd and Matt Gray dominating. In the 85th minute Bromyard made it 2-0 when Tony McLean slotted home from an acute angle but in the dying seconds Brierley reduced the arrears with a successful penalty.
