BROMYARD CC held their AGM and dinner recently where captains and committee members were elected and prizes were presented.

The AGM saw Clive Brazier (chairman), Dave Benbow (president), Chris Graham (treasurer) and Jeff Bayliss (junior co-ordinator) re-elected. Edd Oliver takes over as secretary along with being press officer, Brian Pursall has been appointed vice-chairman and Bromyard stalwart Dan Mills was named club captain. Chris Simmonds replaces him as membership secretary.

The 1st and 3rd XIs will one again be run by the same captains and vice-captains as 2007, with Zahid Saeed and Ash Bullock (1st XI) and Dave Clegg and James Bagley (3rd XI) taking charge respectively. Steve Tomkins takes over the 2nd XI captaincy and Brian Pursall will be the second string's vice-captain, after last year's pairing of Dan Mills and James Hine were frequently required by the 1st XI. Dave Harris stood down as Sunday League captain to be replaced by Edd Oliver, who captained the Sunday side form 2003-6. Keith Styles was the only new committee member elected.

Congratulations were extended to the 3rd XI who were belatedly named as Marches League Division Five runners-up and picked up their trophy at the recent Marches League dinner at Hereford.

The annual dinner saw around 60 Bromyard players, committee members, wives and girlfriends entertained by speeches from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd XI captains, and new chairman Clive Brazier, who completed his first year in the job and gave a highly amusing speech, not all of it particularly related to cricket.
