Harsh words at the break, as well as a realisation that the game was going to be played out to it's final conclusion, saw a different looking Upton start the second half.

With self belief restored, the hosts started exerting pressure on Bromyard, and with fly-half Chris O'Neil taking the initiative that saw him go over for a converted try after breaking from 50 metres out, the game started to swing Upton's way.

Oli Jones caused dispution among the Bromyard three-quarters, causing unforced errors, and the Upton forwards began to take control upfront.

The visitors started to give away too many penalties, scrum-half Richard Mills took advantage from 10 metres out as run ran across field to score in the corner. O'Neil kicked the conversion.

Bromyard never gave up and they laid siege to the Upton line for the final 10 minutes.

However a resolute home defence denied wave after wave of Bromyard attacks.

With the final whistle going, the relief was felt, not so much for the pitch remaining water free, but for having secured victory.
