Family links at Chelsea show

A FAMILY tradition will be certainly be maintained for the Dowle family during this year's Chelsea Flower Show.

Garden designer Julian Dowle of Newent, who has won a record eleven gold medals at the show, will be a judge this year for the Courtyard Gardens category.

He will also give a lecture in design at the show.

Mr Dowle's son, Christian of Colwall, has designed a Japanese garden and another son, Peter, has gone to China for his inspirations.

Julian said: "There's quite an interesting family link, but Christian and Peter won't be competing against each other.

"They'll be in different sections."

The Chelsea Flower Show runs this year from May 20 to May 24.
