We started the bus journey down to Dover at 4.15pm. When we got to the departures for the ferry Mr Kontarines told us we had missed it, and it took five minutes for him to persuade us we actually had.

Still, nobody was in a bad mood and we caught the next ferry five hours later. When we got off the ferry, we headed straight to Austria with no further delays.

When we got there our Ski Plan representative Mr Cobby was very helpful and had tea ready for us.

Even though we were running late he had managed to keep Ski Fit (where we got our skis and ski boots) open after their closing times.

We unpacked and got to bed early as we were all very tired after the coach journey.

In the morning we headed out to the beginners slope opposite our resort (which was very good) and met our ski instructors, and for the rest of the day we learned the basics of skiing.

The next day we went up Grafenburg, which had spectacular views and had another day of skiing.

We also did that the next day, but for the following three days we went up a different mountain, which we walked to, and got the gondola to the top.

On the first day up this mountain we went tubing, which is sitting in a rubber ring and going down a slope.

At night Mr Kontarines arranged fun activities. We went swimming, bowling, had a fun quiz and we went into town.

On the last day we had three hours skiing and ate sausage and chips. We did a slalom and at the end we were all given a certificate with our time on and the top three students got medals. We packed, had tea and left.

We had a good return journey and when we arrived at school we went home and slept. It was an extremely good trip and thank you to Mr K and all the teachers who went.
