Pupils perform Our Day Out

STUDENTS at John Masefield High School have been performing Willy Russell's Our Day Out for fellow pupils and the public as part of the coursework.

Over 50 talented students aged from 11 and 14, took part in the production staged by the Year 10 BTEC Acting Group, acting, singing and dancing under the direction of head of drama Jules Price-Hutchinson.

Our Day Out is an entertaining play about school children who wreak havoc wherever they go, and when they go out for the day with their school they get up to all kinds of mischief. Their two teachers Mrs Kay and Mr Briggs are complete opposites and so spending the day together doesn’t go well.

The play was performed on Wednesday for pupils from neighbouring schools and there will be performances tonight (Thursday) and tomorrow at 7pm in the school theatre. Tickets are on available from the school on 01531 631012 or admin@jmonline.org.uk, £2 concessions and £3 for adults.

Joe Box, aged 13, as Mr Biggs, Alexandra Farrow, 14, as Mrs Kay, and Rachael Franzen, 13, as Carol. Joe Box, aged 13, as Mr Biggs, Alexandra Farrow, 14, as Mrs Kay, and Rachael Franzen, 13, as Carol.
