STUDENTS from Year Ten at Newent Community School have been honoured with the Diana Certificate of Excellence Award.
The students were selected for the award cecause of their commitment and work in the field of human trafficking. They designed and completed a project to raise awareness of the problem and to try to help the victims of this appalling trade.
They worked closely with Gloucestershire Constabulary, and also with Birmingham Airport, where their posters are on display offering advice for victims. Their work has been displayed at a National Police Conference and has also been recognised by the United Nations.
Teacher Dawn Terry said: “We are very proud of our award holders. They worked extremely hard on this project and felt it was a cause worth being a part of in a very positive way."
