Village hosts Gardeners' Question Time

MUCH Marcle Gardeners’ Club is hosting the BBC’s Gardeners Question Time next week.

Famous gardening gurus Pippa Greenwood, Bob Flowerdew and Bunny Guinness make up the panel, which will be chaired by Peter Gibbs.

They will be answering questions from local gardeners and spreading around their gardening knowledge, and the programme will then be broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in August.

Taking place at The Hellens, in Much Marcle, the recording is on Monday, July 13.

"We are thrilled to be welcoming the panel," said Chris Oulton, the secretary of Much Marcle Gardeners’ Club, who contacted the BBC about hosting the quiz when the club was set up in 2003.

"It’s a great opportunity for local gardeners to ask their burning gardening questions and bring along plants for identification, or just come to enjoy the evening."

All local gardeners are welcome, and tickets at £2.50 per person to include a welcome drink, are available from Jennifer Buttery on 01531 660584. Entry is by ticket only.
