FROM November households in Ledbury and Bromyard will get rid of their recyclable waste in wheelie bins once every two weeks.
The towns are just two of the areas due for radical overhauls in their waste collection across Herefordshire.
Roadshows will be heading to the towns over the next two months to publicise their introduction and answer any questions from members of the public.
Councillor John Jarvis, Herefordshire Council’s cabinet member for the environment, said: “This new scheme will really help residents to increase the amount they can recycle and I would urge them to come along and find out more and get any of their questions answered.
“We want people to have as much information as possible before the scheme starts.”
The bins will not replace the weekly black bag collections, but the days and times of those collections may change when it begins on November 2. Any changes will be detailed on information packs, delivered with the recycling bins to households, in September and October.
For the first time, residents will be able to get rid of glass using the bins. Other materials suitable for them are tins, cans, plastic bottles, paper and card.
The roadshow will be in Ledbury at St Katherine’s car park, between 9.30am and 3.30pm on Tuesday, July 28 and then in Bromyard’s Tenbury Road car park on Thursday, August 6 at the same times.
