Adventure on the way for Ann Cam school

A NEW adventure trail at Dymock’s Ann Cam School will keep pupils physically active.

The school’s Parent, Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA) contributed £3,500 towards the new trail after an extensive programme of fund-raising.

Andrew Winterbotham, chairman of the PTFA said: “The pupil council got together a few ideas of what the pupils would like in the play ground. Then all of the school voted on the item they would like most. I had a meeting with the pupil council where they explained their decision and requested the PTFA contribute to the trail. The pupils were excellent during the meeting and had a real grown up approach to the needs of the whole school.”

The PTFA has also been pivotal in organising events and social activities for the local community, parents and children of Ann Cam School.

Over the past three years, more than £10,000 has been spent on improved facilities.

Chris Ward, acting headteacher of Ann Cam added: “The new trail can be used by all of the pupils at play times and has been located so it can be used all year round. It really is great to see so many children being physically active and enjoying this fabulous new facility.”
