Fun and festivities planned for lights-switch on

A PACKED schedule of entertainment will herald the arrival of the festive season in Ledbury when the town’s Christmas lights are switched on this Sunday (November 29).

The fun begins with Christmas music from 12.30pm, before Father Christmas arrives at 1pm. He will spend the afternoon greeting children in his special grotto in the Ledbury Town Council offices, while outside the entertainment continues, with performances from Tarrington Brass, Suzie’s Dance Group, the Silurian Morris men and St Paul’s Morris Dancers.

At 4.15pm a prize draw with a top prize of £100 will be made, and at 4.30pm Ledbury’s mayor Chris Holbourn will turn on the town’s Christmas lights.

The switch-on will be immediately followed by community carol singing, with accompaniment from Tarrington Brass.

A host of refreshments will be available and there will be children’s amusements in High Street.
